’ÄúSeuss Land’Äù comes to Springfield with the gracious consent of Audrey Geisel, wife of the late Theodor Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss. Ted Geisel spent his formative years growing up in the city’Äôs Forest park neighborhood. His father even served as Park Superintendent. It is believed that many of Dr. Seuss’Äô drawings were inspired by Springfield architecture.
